July temperatures can be deceivingly warm in Denver

The July temperatures in Denver can be deceivingly warm. Just because the altitude is one mile above sea level doesn’t mean that it’s going to be cold during the summer. There are days during July when the temperatures are hot and humid. At night those temperatures drop 30 or 40 degrees. My friends and I went camping at a park in Denver and we stayed for two nights. During the day, the summer temperatures were very warm and humid. We walked around the campsite with shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops. We spent the day by the river playing football and frisbee. After the sun went down, the temperatures in Denver dropped significantly and my friends and I were cold. During the day we were in a t-shirt, but at night we were wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt. We slept in the tent with both of the flaps closed, because the breeze was very chilly. We sat inside the tent with a bowl of dried cannabis flower from the dispensary. We had stopped at the cannabis shop earlier that day, before we left the city. We smoked the entire bowl of cannabis flower and the tent was filled with smoke from the cannabis. At one point we had to open some of the doorway, so the cannabis smoke would leave the tent. After getting high, we didn’t have any trouble sleeping through the cold, night time temperatures. As soon as the sun came up the next morning, it started to warm right up. We had a lot of fun that weekend and we hiked one of the harder trails on Sunday.
