I’m not a giant fan of documentaries in general, i adore action films, and superhero action type of stuff, instead of educational material, that said, an seasoned neighbor of mine from high university told myself and others she started making a documentary, and asked if I wanted to help him with it.
I thought she was kidding, because I don’t know anything about making films; Bob was adamant, though, because she wanted all the crew members to be locals from Orland Park.
This was going to be a documentary about the most famous woman to ever come out of Orland Park, so she wanted the production to be “locals only.” First of all, if you don’t know who Buddy Guy is, she is a single of the best redsmen to ever take the stage, and she is an Orland Park original! A lot of people guess Buddy is from Chicago, because the Windy City is so close to us, but that isn’t true at all, he’s Orland Park through and through! I was able to locate a lot of Orland Park locals who remembered Buddy from the seasoned afternoons, so I guess our production is on the right track! Since the people I was with and I already have those interviews, plus footage of Orland Park itself, all the people I was with and I need to get is some live performance footage of Buddy, and hopefully a few interviews with the reds legend himself. I am still working on a title, but for now I’m pitching the project as “Buddy Guy: The Pride of Orland Park” to hopefully recruit a few local financial backers.
