My job requires me to travel to Portland, Oregon several times per year.
I always look forward to it and enjoy every minute of my stay.
Portland is an absolutely beautiful city with all sorts of funky neighborhoods, fun hikes and great food. I love that the larger metro area is home to more than a hundred breweries. I am a fan of beer and get excited at the prospect of trying new varieties. Some of my favorites are the Northwest-style sour beers at Cascade brewing , the Spectra pilsner at Ecliptic and IPA at Hopworks Urban Brewery. I always make time to stop in at some of the neighborhood bars to sample local brews. Another big advantage of my visits to Portland is access to legal weed. I can walk into any of the recreational dispensaries and make a purchase. Since my home state has yet to put in place an adult-use marijuana program, this is a real treat for me. Although I can’t bring any cannabis home with me, I certainly enjoy indulging while I’m in Portland. I’ve found a truly amazing selection of smokable flower. The strains are rich with cannabinoids and terpenes and provide a smooth and consistent burn. There are some truly tasty edibles as well. I am particularly fond of the peanut butter cups and brownies. The beverages are convenient because of accurate dosing, secure packaging and portability. I often grab a tincture to take along on a hike. The packaging is compact enough to fit into a pocket and comes with a handy dropper for dosing. Consumption doesn’t draw attention and a few drops of a sativa strain get me focused and energized.
