The world of cannabis edibles is expanding all the time. I remember when options were limited to gummies and brownies. Due to their popularity, new varieties of edibles are constantly getting introduced. Since I love cannabis-infused edibles, I’m excited. I’ve signed up for a loyalty program at my local Denver dispensary. The program allows me to earn points for every purchase and use them for discounts on future purchases. Plus, I get notified when there’s new products available, weekly specials and events at the dispensary. I know about the availability of new flavors and varieties of edibles. Their selection is wonderfully diverse, offering a wide range of potency, effects and flavors. They sell gummies in strawberry, lemon, passion fruit, sour cherry and at least a dozen more. Their collection of baked goods cover cookies, crispy treats, granola and more. I have my choice of milk, white and dark chocolates, caramels and peanut butter cups. I appreciate that edibles are very easy and discreet to consume. They don’t cause any odors or smoke. I don’t require any specialized skills or gear. They are portable, so I can bring them along on an activity such as a hike, bike ride or even kayaking. I’ve learned to be careful about following the dosage recommendations on the package. Because the cannabinoids are absorbed by way of the digestive tract, the effects can take several hours to fully set in. They tend to be more intense than smoking and can last for quite a few hours. Just recently, the dispensary added a whole menu of cannabis-infused beverages. The dosage is extremely easy to measure and the effects are a bit milder.
