Before our rich aunt moved to the Tarzana area of Los Angeles, he was in a large home down by the lake, just a few miles away from our parents’ house.
He invited our siblings & I over every single week, hosting small barbecues in the backyard.
His above-ground, metal-framed swimming pool had a custom wooden deck built around it with a small water slide connected. Everyone in our family enjoyed swarming our aunt’s home during the Springtime & Summer seasons when the un-even temperatures warmed up enough for us to swim in his pool or in the large lake a few steps behind his back yard. It was a anxious day when our aunt had to sell his lakeside home & transport to Tarzana, CA because of work-related reasons. However, he earned a raise from his company & managed to snag a home right on Ventura Boulevard despite the high cost of real estate in this coveted area of Los Angeles. Now our rich aunt spends his days smoking joints & blunts of weed when he’s not tied up at the office. I visited him recently from our beach home in Flagstaff, AZ & took interstate 40 west until I reached interstate 15 in Barstow. Instead of driving through the town portion of Los Angeles, I took state roads 18 & 14 to get around the Angeles National Forest from the north. The drive to Tarzana was good & I was happy by the cannabis our aunt had in his home on Ventura Blvd. My trip to Tarzana was 1 of our most stress-free getaways in years!
