One of my favorite things to do is to go camping, and living in Birmingham Alabama, I have lots of options when it comes to campsites.
I have access to campsites in the city as well as in neighboring towns. If I want a comfortable experience, I can rent a cabin in the woods, or if I want to camp in the most primitive and secluded way, there are lots of nearby lakeside options to choose from. However, my favorite place to go camping is Oak Mountain State Park and as the largest state park in Alabama, the amenities are endless. There is fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, horseback riding and so much more. I love renting the cabins because they are situated next to a lake which offers so much peace and tranquility. Also, the cabins are fully equipped with everything we need including climate control for a comfortable stay. I must be honest, having climate control makes a difference in the camping experience. This is especially true during the warmer months when the temperature outside can become hot and humid. The air conditioned cabin offers a great comfortable space to escape from the heat after a day of exploring the park. We have also camped inside an RV before which also has climate control. Of course, the heating and cooling system inside an RV doesn’t provide the same level of comfort as the climate control inside a cabin. But at the end of the day, I enjoy spending time outdoors and having a climate control spot to sleep is just icing on the cake.
