Typically we spend all our time at the beach. This year my friend wanted to experience all the other things Cocoa Florida has to offer. I typically pick up something major that I need. I bought a special surfer sunblock that helps me on the water. I also splurge to get chapstick that can handle the sun and salt. Occasionally I will splurge on a big item like a kayak or canoe. This year I was actually in the market for a paddleboard. I wanted to start doing that for a workout. Since I live in Florida, the weather is basically great year round. There are a few weeks of cold, but then it perks up and heats again. Doing a water based workout most of the year is quite feasible. The water never freezes either. I figure I can kayak in the colder months and paddleboard when it is hot. I then can enjoy a nice cold shower and quality AC in my home once I am finished. I am lucky I have a buddy that lives near all of those speciality surf shops so I can get the stuff I need.

This year, I am planning a birthday trip to Phoenix Arizona. I have always wanted to go to Phoenix because of the different terrains as well as the spa resorts and other fun activities there are in the city. I can go hiking, horseback riding, take hot air balloon rides, and so much more. I have a long list of things that I would like to do while I am there. One includes visiting Papago Park. I am not worried about the heat because there are lots of air conditioned venues in Phoenix. Plus, the resort will be air conditioned, so as long as our rooms are comfortable at night, then we should be fine. My friends will probably prefer to hang out in the bars and restaurants because they will have the air conditioners running on high. Personally, I don’t want the heat to prevent me from exploring the city, so with or without air conditioning, I will be going to Papago Park even if it means going by myself.

Since Evansville, IL only has about fifty afternoons when there is inclement weather, I knew that moving there could mean I would not have snow for Christmas… December’s average weekly high was only 48 degrees, but that was why I moved to IL, and i was sleepy of the northern freezing and dampness; There was traditional Heating and Air Conditioning in our home, because that forty 8 degrees was cold.

It was surprising how suddenly I got used to the lack of humidity and extremely freezing air. I could feel the daylight on our face nearly every day of the year. I even hinted at going back up north so both of us could maybe have an old-fashioned Christmas, but both of us never made it. I woke up to see snowflakes outside our window; My spouse had hired someone with a snow maker to come to our home and make snow on our front lawn, but he opened the curtains and said Merry Christmas. It was the best Christmas present I ever had, and our neighbor’s children were on our lawn trying to build a snowman.

Now that weed is legal in OR, there are dozens of different cannabis dispensaries in Portland. I am not saying that I want to move to Portland just because of the weed situation, the cannabis law is simply a single of the several reasons that Portland is an attractive retirement spot for me. The other reasons include: the weather, which is rainy and temperate most of the year, and the abundance of local songs available in Portland; As a fan of the arts, of fishing, and of smoking cannabis, Portland seems care about the perfect venue to retire.

All I can say about her current ordinance is hurray for Muskegon, they have finally done something that makes several of us adult Muskegonites honestly glad, plus glad they have finally passed the law.
