Now that recreational cannabis is legal all over Michigan, I feel extremely spoiled compared to my friends in the south.

If you’re like my friends in Florida, you might have medical marijuana but it comes with a host of restrictions and frustrations. For instance, the cannabis companies in this state are all required to operate from seed to sale. If you want to be a marijuana retailer, you must grow all of the cannabis that goes into the products that you sell. If you’re a marijuana grower and manufacturer, you must own the retail locations in which to sell it. However, that creates a much larger barrier of entry into the legal cannabis industry in that state. You need tens of millions of dollars, if not hundreds of millions of dollars to be successful right now in the Florida medical marijuana program. In Michigan, you can operate as a separate retail location versus a growing facility. That allows for more market competition and diversity, effectively giving the whole state better access while dropping prices across the board. Although the cost of living is higher in Ann Arbor than some places in Wayne County, I prefer the marijuana I’ve bought in Washtenaw County over the years. There is a lot of money invested in the cannabis companies that exist within this city. Some of the companies are geared towards people shopping for weed on a budget, while other cannabis stores are intended to focus on the wealthier portions of the market.

The Clearwater Beach restaurant had an entirely different vibe. They had a new menu and different staff. For twenty years, my wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere and charming service of the seaside restaurant. It was sad to see all of the changes.

After my mom and dad retired, they decided to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I was sad to see my mom and dad move so far away from home, but they were convinced that moving to Albuquerque was the right decision for them.

I certainly couldn’t argue with their decision. After all, they’re my parents. My dad died five years after my parents moved to Albuquerque and my mom has been alone since then. My sister and I flew to Albuquerque last year to visit. We were both surprised by the conditions we found at our moms condo. She hadn’t cleaned the place in at least a month. There were dirty dishes in the sink that had mold and mildew. The AC wasn’t working either. It was about 85 degrees inside of the house when my sister and I visited and it was all my Mother’s Day. My mom still had to deal with two more months of hot temperatures. When my sister and I saw their conditions, we quickly realized that Mom could no longer stay in Albuquerque. My sister and I discussed everything and decided that we would approach mom to see if she would move back home to live with one of us. Even when we mentioned the broken AC unit and the dirty dishes in the sink. Mom refused to believe that she could no longer take care of herself. She refused to leave with my sister and I and told us that we need to mind our own business from now on. I’m not sure what to do next.

My best friend Jack and I scored two tickets to a Motocross event in Denver. We were pretty excited about the event. Tickets were $50 each, but Jack and I got two tickets for free after winning a contest on the Denver radio station. Jack was the person to call the radio station and he turned out to be the 99th caller and winner of the Motocross tickets. It was a 45-minute drive to Denver from our apartment. The woman on the phone advised me that this particular strain was an Indica dominant hybrid. Of course I already knew that, because I looked it up online. That didn’t change the fact that it was marked incorrectly by the dispensary.
