I had come to Libertyville for a business conference. It was an odd place, but perhaps it’s because I’d never been to Illinois until then. Lake County popped up on my search as I tried to understand the site. Part of the conference was to spend time scouting the area as a potential office location. During the weekend, I moved around and checked out the mighty Lake Michigan. There were so many fun activities during the summer, and visitors had flocked in from all over. As I walked around, I came across a coffee shop where I could rest a bit from the heat and enjoy the excellent AC system. On the counter was a lovely guy who worked as a barista. We smiled at each other, and I gave him my order. Then I went to sit down at one of the empty tables and took out my phone. A short while after, I looked up when my drink arrived, expecting to see a waiter. But it was the handsome barista who’d brought my order. He asked if he could have my number and give me a call sometime after paying me a compliment. I said yes and gave it to him. Little did I know that would be the start of a beautiful friendship turned into romance. The barista, Jake, proposed to me a year and a half after we first met. We had to work with a long-distance relationship, but we made it through. After the wedding, I relocated to Libertyville, and now we are expecting our firstborn. I was not so sure about the town the first time I got here, but I can’t think of living anywhere else in the world.
Our honeymoon was two weeks staying inside a national park
Bumping into someone on the streets only leads to romance in the movies, right? Well, I always thought the same way until it happened to me.
I remember that day very well since I was so late for work.
The night before, I’d spent too much time watching my favorite series and did not go to bed until 2 am. For some reason, the alarm didn’t go off, and I was so late for work. He came out of nowhere and knocked me to the ground. I looked up, ready to hurl a lot of profanities until I saw the concern on his face. He was also late for work, and we laughed about that while he helped me up. It turned out he worked in the same building as I did, and we got together a couple of times for drinks. Finally, he asked me out, and we began dating a few months later and were married in a year. Dan was that chance encounter that turned out to be the best thing. We both loved the great outdoors, so we went to the Rocky Mountain National Park for our honeymoon. In summer, we flew into Denver and drove to the park where we were staying in a lovely lodging. The thought of staying in a place among wild animals and places to hike was the highlight of our experience. The lodging was nestled in a lovely spot, and we woke up each morning to amazing views. The lodging was well set up and had a cooling system to wade off the summer heat in each cottage.
Why do they call it Cocoa, FL when there are no cocoa trees?
We had lived in Cocoa, FL for almost three years before I wondered why it was called Cocoa? I had never seen a cocoa tree or bush anywhere in the area.
- I didn’t smell chocolate unless you were walking the streets of Cocoa Village, where they had a myriad of shops.
I decided to do some research into why they called Cocoa, FL, Cocoa. I found that there were several stories that the old timers tell about how the town got its name. There is one story that says the mail used to be delivered by river boat. It was placed in an empty tin box that was labeled Baker’s Cocoa. The box was nailed to a piling in the river that was next to downtown. This story says the city was named after the tin box that held the mail. It was shortened to Cocoa to make it easier for the river boat. There is also the legend that the city was named after an early hotel that was located on the Indian River lagoon. The name of this hotel was the Cocoa House. I couldn’t find any information on why it was called the Cocoa House. I wondered if the climate was different back then than it is now. I’m sure they didn’t have air conditioning, and I was glad I did. All the research I was doing, had me wishing someone would lower the thermostat so I could relax. Since I was the only one home at the moment, I had to get up and lower the thermostat myself.
Taking my kids to the Sandia Peak Tramway while we visit Albuquerque
Now that my kids are old enough to take on cross-country trips, my wife and I decided that we would take our van to visit family that lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since we live in Florida, that would give us the chance to see at least four states if we drove through the entire state of Texas. Instead, we took a more northern route so we could stop in the Ozarks in Arkansas on the way to Albuquerque. My kids were particularly excited to see the Mississippi River when we reached Memphis. By the time we got to the Ozarks, we had been driving for several days and stopping in hotels and campgrounds along the way. My kids were getting a little restless by that point, but I promised them that we would be stopping for a few days once we reached our destination. It was a relief when I saw the sign for the New Mexico border and realized we would be in Albuquerque in just a matter of hours. The first thing we saw on interstate 40 were the Sandia Peaks. These mountains are a beautiful backdrop for the city of Albuquerque, and the famous Sandia Peak Tramway is a cable car system that takes guests high into the mountains to see the breathtaking views. Our kids were so excited that their eyes were completely agape for the entire experience. I hope it’s a memory they cherish for the rest of their lives, because I know that I definitely will. Albuquerque has a lot to offer, even to tourists like myself and my family.
I actually like the Florida Aquarium
I have been a patron of the Florida aquarium in Tampa, since our parents moved us down here when I was a kid.
I actually loved going to the aquarium.
My mom took me every weekend to see the variety of aquatic animals. I loved looking at the sharks most of all. I’m sure it is the reason why I went to university for a marine biology degree. I study sharks plus their habitat. I have a boat plus the kids plus I spend a ton of time on the water. I take our kids to the Florida aquarium in Tampa, Florida, at least once each 2 or 3 weeks. Both of our children like the shark exhibits as much as I do. My child particularly is interested in the crocs and alligators, however our kid prefers the sea lions plus the otters. The aquarium in Tampa feels like the perfect location to go during a overheated Summer afternoon. The location has great AC, restrooms, food, drinks, plus activities for the kids that are educational plus so much fun. It’s the perfect Summer hangout spot. The temperatures in this section of the state of FL are genuinely overheated plus humid during the Summer weeks. It’s nearly impossible to spend time outside unless you go to the beach or a Springtime. I don’t always need to take the boat on the water. Occasionally I want to spend the afternoon indoors. I started tp take the kids to the aquarium various years ago plus now they actually like the mornings when the kids go see the fish. They look forward to the trip all week plus I can use it as a special reward for displaying great behavior.

My wifey Bethany plus I decided to take the kids to visit Tampa last weekend.
The two of us hadn’t been to visit Tampa in a long time plus every one of us wanted to take the kids someplace special before their new university year began, and since every one of us were going to be in the town for 2 mornings and nights, every one of us made the choice to go with the Tampa Bay CityPASS.
The City Pass is an event ticket that allows admission to 5 different Tampa Bay attractions. These attractions include the awesome Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, the Florida aquarium, zoo tampa in Lowry Park, the marine aquarium, plus a option between the Museum of Science plus Industry or an evening dolphin cruise. The CityPASS is a cheap way to see various different attractions over one weekend. My wifey plus I thought it was a great deal so every one of us bought passes for the both of us plus all three of our children. I was particularly happy to go to Zoo Tampa in Lowry Park. That was the location I wanted to go first, however unluckyly, it was rather overheated plus humid that afternoon plus genuinely uncomfortable outdoors. The two of us spent an hour or two at the Tampa zoo, before every one of us made the choice to go to a different attraction that was located indoors with air conditioning. The kids particularly didn’t mind going to the aquarium plus our wifey Bethany plus I were much more comfortable in the aquarium than every one of us were standing outside at the zoo. The next afternoon the outdoor temperatures were a bit less damp plus humid, so every one of us spent that afternoon doing another activity that required us to remain outdoors. The kids had a lot of fun that weekend plus so did Bethany.
I was so shocked when I heard the news about Tampa

My sibling plus I talked earlier in the week. Max and I were sad and worried that our mom plus stepdad were going to give us some particularly bad news. The two of us were sad and ready for the worst new, maybe a divorce or a terminal illness, neither one of us expected to hear what our parents genuinely revealed. They were going to sell the family lake house plus transport down south. My mom’s older sibling lives in Tampa, Florida plus our mom plus stepdad went to visit her a few weeks ago. Ever since they went to Tampa, Florida, they have both been talking about the amazing weather. My Mom plus Stepdad loved the sun plus the warm, humid mornings, honestly, it’s definitely the thing I detest the most about Florida. I have been to Tampa a few times to visit our aunt Hildy plus I wasn’t particularly impressed. I don’t care about walking around on a Summer afternoon feeling that our body is always wet. It is a terribly uncomfortable feeling that I don’t enjoy. I was particularly shocked plus taken aback when our mom plus stepdad mentioned Moving to Tampa. My sibling plus I threw a temper tantrum plus left the lake house before they could finish speaking. The two of us went back a couple of mornings later to apologize, however both of us were particularly stunned when every one of us got the news. The two of us never expected our mom and stepdad to transport all the way to Tampa, Florida plus leave us behind.

The Outback Bowl played in Tampa, Florida attracts thousands of tourists each Winter bowl game season.
This game has been held every year since 1986.
The university pigskin game attracts lots of game fans and tourists which makes it one of the busiest times of the year in our eating establishment. My family plus I own a small eating establishment in the middle of Tampa. The place is located close to Raymond James Stadium. This is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers plus the famed location of the Outback Bowl. The Outback Bowl is sponsored by the Outback Steakhouse. There are so many locations to get a steak in Tampa, however Outback is still one of our fave locations to visit. The Outback Bowl has been played every Wintertime for close to 40 years, and one of the best reasons to attend this bowl game is due to the weather conditions in the middle of Tampa. Even during the Wintertime season, Tampa has a mild plus overheated temperature. The average low temps around Christmas plus New Year are still 40 degrees. The bowl games attract so many visitors plus this is great for local corporations such as mine, but during the week of the university bowl, our eating establishment serves A week’s worth of burgers, fries, plus chicken wings. The two of us are positively famous for our deep dish pizza, however most of the tourists prefer to order burgers plus chicken wings, business is totally off the chain during that week plus every one of us use those profits to sustain our eating establishment until Springtime when the Summer tourists return to Tampa. This location is packed with seasonal folks that only come to Tampa when the weather is sunny plus warm.
Living in Tampa is no day at the beach

A great many of our friends and relatives are jealous because I live in Tampa. I moved here just over five weeks ago when I was assigned to a 6 month long work assignment. I didn’t expect everything to be perfect, although I thought it would be alot more fun that I am currently having. I didn’t want to add more the time on the work, although I didn’t have any choice. In the last more than five weeks, this job has been extended for various additional weeks plus it looks care about I will be in Tampa for the foreseeable future. I don’t mind living in Tampa, however it is no day at the beach care about our friends believe; My home is particularly luxurious plus I have to take a cab to the job everyday. I didn’t want to take our car to the worksite, because that meant driving a genuinely long distance instead of taking a ride… The weather in Tampa is actually horrible. It’s hot, muggy, plus humid. I tried to go to the local beach Last week on our afternoon off plus the water was covered with red algae. I could not go near the water after I found out this is called red tide, red tide is a significant problem that affects most Florida beaches care about Davis Islands in Tampa. This problem continues to get worse with every single year. I know it seems nice to next to the water, however when the water is filled with bacteria plus viruses, I can’t surf, swim, or ride a jet ski, however when this job is finished next year, I’m going to take a job in a different state. I have already spent enough time in Tampa to know that Florida is not the location where I want to put down some roots or start a family.

I moved to California 5 years back, to start a task for a cannabis dispensary.
When I took the work, the dispensary was just a tiny shop with a big farm.
Now the dispensary is an even larger farm with 16 locations throughout the length of San Fernando valley. Several of the locations are situated in Los Angeles, but recently we opened up a brand-new recreational and medical cannabis dispensary just outside of Tarzana. Tarzana is a super nice community outside of Los Angeles with a population around 40,000 people. Most of the folks here own their cabin and the universitys are highly rated. It is absolutely 1 of the nature loving communities in Los Angeles County when you consider the price for the property. Before the modern cannabis shop opened in Tarzana, both of us talked at length to the community and the neighborhood council, people seemed generally in favor of opening the Cannabis and CBD shop, and both of us proceeded to find a spot for our modern fancy pot dispensary. It took some time to find the perfect area for our shop, however our team bought an old 7-11 that needed major repairs… Designers and contractors spent more than a month finally working on the building so it would pass the county code. The people I was with and I threw a huge celebration in downtown Tarzana to honor the opening of the dispensary. After more than 6 months, the sales at the modern place are steadily decreasing. The shop in Tarzana is going strong and the shops right in downtown Los Angeles. It seems clear that the community is happy with our products and our prices. The people I was with and I even offer a deal with the pizza shop in our shopping center, you can order a big pie and an fourth and have them sent out at the same time.
