I went to university at the University of Alabama which is located in Tuscaloosa, then after I graduated, I took a job laboring at the university as a teacher, however i teach mathematics to freshmen and sophomores at the university. I have an office on the second floor of the building; For the past couple of years, I have complained about the indoor air rapidly changing temperatures in my office. I have the office all the way at the end of the building and I am the farthest away from the a/c unit, then the central a/c unit never seemed to blow at full force in my office, but last week, the supervisor of my department came to meet with me and the girl almost had a heat stroke because it was so sizzling in my office. I told the supervisor that I had been complaining for a long time but no one was doing anything about it. The next day the maintenance department was in my office measuring for a modern ductless mini-split unit. I didn’t particularly expect the supervisor to get a special cooling system just for me, however I am particularly glad that she did. The modern A/C unit is going to be installed tomorrow. All of my classes were canceled and I am going to take the day off. I’m still going to have office hours in the late afternoon, but I’m going to spend the day walking around the campus and the rest of Tuscaloosa. It’s been a long time since I had a day to cherish the neighborhood and I’m particularly looking forward to the short break. I’m also looking forward to the modern AC.
