I went to college at the University of AL which is located in Tuscaloosa… After I graduated, I took a task working at the college as a teacher! I teach mathematics to freshmen and sophomores at the school. I have an office on the second floor of the building, for the past couple of years, I have complained about the indoor air temperatures in my office. I have the office all the way at the end of the building and I am the farthest away from the air conditioner unit, the central cooling system never seemed to blow at full force in my office, last week, the supervisor of my department came to meet with me and the guy almost had a heat stroke because it was so warm in my office. I told the supervisor that I had been complaining for a long time but no one was doing anything about it. The next day the maintenance department was in my office measuring for a up-to-date ductless mini-split unit. I did not easily expect the supervisor to get a special cooling system just for me, but I am easily happy that he did. The up-to-date AC component is going to be installed tomorrow. All of my classes were canceled and I am going to take the day off. I am still going to have office hours in the late afternoon, but I’m going to spend the day walking around the campus and the rest of Tuscaloosa. It’s been a long time since I had a day to cherish the city and I’m easily looking forward to the short break. I’m also looking forward to the up-to-date AC.
